Project overview

Together with my group, I redesigned the website for the jazz club Jazzzolder. Our version was selected by the client to be published as their new website.

The goal was to redesign the Jazzzolder website and create a clearer, more engaging online experience for people interested in the jazz club and its events.

02

My role

Most of the project was done together as a group. My main individual contribution was building the Contact page in WordPress. I also created the footer and helped with other parts of the website wherever I could.

03

Research

We visited the jazz club itself and asked several people questions, which helped us understand the club and its visitors. We also did desk research into the club’s history, and looked at other jazz organisations for inspiration and comparison, such as Gent Jazz and Blue Note Jazz.

04

UX process

We started with research and a low fidelity prototype before developing the high fidelity design.

In my part, I focused on making the contact information easy to find and understand with a clear Contact page, and on a footer that makes navigation and important information easy to reach from the bottom of every page.

05

Low fidelity designs

The wireframes defined the pages the club needed: home, history, concert agenda, concert archive, contact and news.

06

High fidelity designs

The high fidelity design brings in the club’s atmosphere with concert photography and its hand drawn posters, built from reusable components in Figma.

07

WordPress / CMS development

After the design process, we built the website in WordPress. I personally worked on:

  • the Contact page
  • the footer
  • other parts of the website where help was needed

Final result

Our version was selected by the client and published as their new website. The site is no longer online, so here is a walkthrough of the final result.

Reflection

This project gave me experience with WordPress and showed me how a Figma design is translated into a real CMS. I also learned how important communication and consistency are when several people work on the same website.

If I did the project again, I would document my individual contributions throughout the process, so it’s easier to show exactly what I worked on.

let’s create
together.

I’m looking for an internship from February to May 2027 where I can learn, contribute and grow. Have a project or a spot on your team? I’d love to hear from you.
